What a find, lovely French inspired cooking, with a European ambiance, and a phenomenal wine list. Thank you, we stayed late, ate slowly, drank copious amounts of French wine, and enjoyed wonderful conversations with friends at New Sammy's. Ignore comments about the restaurant being hard to find. You'll find it if you want to. Don't go expecting standard American fare, the food is rich, inventive and utterly special.

Outstanding and the best food and service we have had in Ashland. Amazing flavors and seasonings. Everything perfectly cooked and seasoned. You MUST try the desserts.

If you could muster up the courage to enjoy a completely empty bar and 1/3 empty restaurant refusing to provide service to one person...then you’ve come to the dumbest business model of all restaurants...with some employee declaring “Sorry, we are all full tonight” despite ZERO patrons at his entire bar area. Best little hole in the wall restaurant in southern Oregon that we've found! They know their wine and the food was perfect! I had the prefix dinner, which was a great prawn salad and incredible lamb! Yum.

I have been lucky enough to eat here three times. The food and wine are amazing and reasonable priced for what you get. I have eaten in fine restaurants all over the world and this place is one of my very favorites.

The quality of the food is unsurpassed. They are meticulous in that and the preparation of it is almost excellent. I have been eating there for 20 years and still love the food. In the past few years, we have started going for lunch because for $15, a meal winds up to be about the same cost as a mediocre meal elsewhere and is far superior. Charlene continues to innovate and create wonderful meals. Have I ever had a meal that was not up to par? Once or twice in 20 years.The wine list is among the best in the US. Beyond what's on the regular menu, there is the big book of wine. And they don't try to upsell you to more expensive wine. Vernon will point you to a great wine at exactly your taste and price point.

We have enjoyed New Sammys regular menu for more than 20 years, and Charlene's special seasonal menus are up to her high standard and quality. In addition, they're priced at a bargain level. It is a serene place where you will have time to savor your meal.

This place is hard to find at night, even though it is on highway 99. Apparently, the owner does not want to pay for proper lighting. The food was generally good, although the salmon I ordered was under-cooked. The owner/ wine steward seems to think white wine is to be served at room temp., as we had to ask for an ice bucket which was then grudgingly provided. However, he then came and removed the bottle from the ice bucket so it would not "freeze". He also excoriated us for pouring our own wine, and not waiting for him to do it. This was the worst service I have ever had from a wine steward. This place is overrated and I will not be returning.

I celebrated my birthday last night in this excellent restaurant. I am glad to say that we passed a marvelous evening and the restaurant was undoubtedly one of the reasons for this happy event. The waiters participated in a very nice style, the cooking was tasty and my buddies were so cheerful. We shall no dout return for more joyful events. Thank you very much.

Arguably the finest dining experience between San Francisco and Portland. We try to eat there twice during our yearly week at the Shakespeare Festival in nearby Ashland.

The best burger my wife and I have ever tasted! Love the service too! Our favorite, highly recommend. Prices are reasonable, no more than family restaurants. JP

Really like eating here. Have only had the burger, but it's not like any burger you have ever had. Extremely good, and everything just melts in your mouth.

Wonderful creative cooking, quiet atmosphere, good wines.

Terrible service. We waited for an hour for food that was just OK. We asked for something like bread to snack on three times and never received it. I doubt we'll be going back anytime soon.

New Sammy's prepares true European style gourmet food and they have a heart-breakingly beautiful wine selection. Do not come here if you are craving big all-American fare or if you want a quick meal on a budget. This is a stay-a-while, drink-a-bottle, splurge-with-loved-ones kind of a place. Enjoy!

Wanna be 5 star dining. For a foodie, it was a let down. Too much vinegar in many dishes.

Highly underwhelmed. Had the chicken, was ok not much flavor mashed was very watery but the green beans where awesome but only came with 4 of them. For god sake turn on the A/C...

this is our go to for special occasions and date nights. The Food and Wine list are amazing!!! We just let Vern pick the selection of wines for us. NEVER have we been disappointed with his selections and pairings! The Decor is warm and inviting! The ever changing menu gives it a new feel every time.

Great food. I have only had the $15.00 lunch burger.

My wife and I have been going there for years. Over time, the service and the food have both deteriorated badly. The last time, the waitress took away the tiny little amuse before we were done with them. When I asked that she return them to the table, she said, " oh that's just a little freebie that the restaurant provides". I told her that nothing is free. She proceeded to argue with me. The rest of the night she tried her best to act like a Burger King wanabee. Awful!!!
